Alexander E. Bukala
October 9, 1940 - April 7, 2021 Alexander (Alex) E. Bukala (80) of Huntley (formerly of Chicago and Lake Zurich), IL, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Alden Estates of Huntley after a brief battle with advanced multiple myeloma. Alex was employed as an engineer at Littelfuse in Des Plaines, IL for 34 years where he was awarded several patents before retiring in 2002. He was an avid world traveler, enjoying cruises and vacationing in Hawaii, Alaska, Peru, Italy, and Australia, to name a few. He was an active member of Del Webb's Kishwaukee Valley & Eakin Creek Model Railroad Club, developing complex switchboards, among other things. Alex also liked working on computers, Arduino kits and building finely detailed model ships and airplanes. Alex was born October 9, 1940 to Alexander and Antonette (Novak) Bukala of Chicago. He was married to Corinne (Strozewski) for 48 blessed years until her passing in 2011. He is survived by his daughters Carole (Christopher) Wilk and Laura (Roger) Tippett; grandchildren Casey (Mark) Nabors, Colin Wilk, Clara Wilk, Allison Tippett, and Julia Tippett; and sister Arlene Pikulski. Alex was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his brother-in-law, James Pikulski. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Moss Family Funeral Home, St Charles. Funeral services will begin with prayers at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Moss Family Funeral Home before proceeding to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 400 Cedar St., St. Charles, to celebrate Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment will be held at 12:45 PM at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles. |
