Allan G. Brown

Allan G. Brown, 62, of Geneva, IL passed away Friday, July 2, 2021, at Mercyhealth Hospital in Janesville, WI following a stroke while competitive sailing on Geneva Lake, WI.  Allan was born in Scotland, the son of David and May (Lister) Brown. He was united in marriage to Sandy LaBianco on May 19, 2002, in Geneva, IL.

Allan was a loving husband and devoted father. Allan has been a lifelong sailor.  He learned to sail in Scotland before moving to the United State in his early twenties.  He continued his passion of sailing locally at both Lake Michigan and Geneva Lake, Wisconsin.  He was a member of the Lake Geneva Yacht Club. Among sailing, he engaged in many other hobbies such as historical war gaming, attending Grateful Dead concerts, and being an avid Scotch connoisseur. Allan also took his profession very seriously.  He was a software engineer who was employed by Avanade.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy, his mother, May Brown, his two children, Ryan (Alex) Mulvihill, and Erin Mulvihill, his mother-in-law Alice LaBianco, a brother-in-law, Michael (Susan) LaBianco; a sister-in-law, Ellen LaBianco, and his 6 nieces, Isabelle, Sophia, Ava, and Charlotte LaBianco, Allison and Emily Nipper and a nephew, Darren Nipper. 

Allan is preceded in death by his father, David Brown, and brother, Stuart Brown. In addition to his brother and father, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Christ LaBianco.

A memorial service to celebrate Allan’s life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL.  Visitation will be held 1:00 P.M. until the time of the memorial service.
