Carmen Georgine Anderson

Carmen Georgine Anderson 90 of Geneva passed away peacefully Friday, June 24, 2022 in Geneva, IL. She was born in Batavia, IL on December 26, 1931 the daughter of George and Genevieve (nee Freedlund) Stran. She was united in marriage to David “Copie” Anderson March 10, 1956 in Batavia, IL.

Carmen was a loving and caring mother, wife and grandmother. She was a life member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Batavia where she was involved with the Bethany Quilters and the Peace Circle. Carmen was a crafty woman and enjoyed sharing her makings with others. She was famous for her many batches of Christmas Cookies and loved to knit and sew; there are many Christmas stockings hanging around Batavia made by Carmen. Her other passion was card playing, she was involved in many card playing groups. She especially loved playing with Donna and Harry Neely, they will forever be a team of four. Carmen was very influential in her grandchildren’s lives, teaching them kindness, love and sharing.

She is survived by her children Betsy (Ken) Garrison of Batavia and Scott Anderson of Kingston, WA; three grandchildren Lance of Springfield, IL, Jorden, and David Garrison of Batavia, two brothers Robert (Judy) Stran and William (Melinda) Stran, many loved nieces and nephews and her grand dog Mosley, great grand dogs Dusty and Kelley.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband David and her brother Ken Stran.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1, 2022 at Bethany Lutheran Church at 8 S Lincoln Street, Batavia, IL 60510, where she will lie in state from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at River Hills Memorial Park.
