Long-time Geneva resident, Dort Fauntleroy passed away August 31, 2016, he was 91 years old. He was born in Chicago on April 30, 1925 to the late Gorton and Dorothy Dort Fauntleroy. His maternal grandfather was J. Dallas Dort, who was instrumental in the formation of General Motors. His paternal grandfather was T.S. Fauntleroy, Owner of Moline Malleable Company.
Dort was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Carol Wiek Fauntleroy. He is survived by his daughter, Jean Fauntleroy of Ft. Myers, Florida, son, David Fauntleroy of Geneva, and two grandsons, Patrick (Caitlin) of Chicago and Andrew of Geneva.
After graduating from Lake Forest Academy, Dort enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in the 324th Infantry during World War II receiving various commendations. After the war, Dort returned to school and graduated with a B.S. in engineering from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in 1954.
After graduation, he came home to Illinois to join the family foundry business, becoming a creative force in the growth in building the company as President and CEO of Moline Malleable/Moline Corporation, and President and CEO of Dort Metallurgical in St. Charles, Illinois.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial on Tuesday September 13th, from 5:00 â€“ 9:00 at Geneva Golf Club, 831 South Street, Geneva, Illinois.
