Helen Christine Burke Siercks, age 92, of St. Charles, died Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Rush Copley Hospital, Aurora.
She was born December 12, 1923 in Sublette, Il. The daughter of the late Frank Burk and Isabel Schmehr Burke.
She graduated from Amboy High School in 1941, and St. Charles School of Nursing in 1944. She served in the U.S. Army, Camp McCoy Wisconsin from May 5, 1945 and was discharged in February of 1946. Helen married to Clifford Siercks of April 21, 1949 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Maytown, Il. She was employed by Delnor Hospital and then worked for Dr. B.K. Dellenback until she retired in June of 1984. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and she belonged to Good Sam Camping Club. In her leisure time she loved Cooking, Baking, Gardening, Craft Work, Knitting, Bingo and especially Wheel of Fortune.
She is survived by her two children, Annette (John) McKiness of St. Charles and Harold (Carol) Siercks of Tennessee. Grandchildren, Sara McKiness, Kevin McKiness, Dan (Lizz) Siercks, Eric (Kochan) Siercks. Great grandchildren, Aidan Niziolek, and Annetta Siercks. Also her siblings, Alice Keasler and Doris Morrissey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Sierks on June 21, 1999. Also, her daughter, Judy Siercks. A sister, Kathleen Geldmeyer and a brother, John Burke.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Yurs Funeral Home 1771 W. State Street (Rte38) Geneva. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church 408 Cedar Street St. Charles. Burial will be at Union Cemetery.Send Flowers View / Sign Guestbook
