Eric Paul Sansouci, 37, of Batavia passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 following a heroic battle with pancreatic cancer.  Eric was born January 7, 1983 in Creve Coeur, MO, the son of Russell and Renee (Ravens) Sansouci.  He was united in marriage to Victoria Catherine May 15, 2010 in West Chicago, IL.

Eric is survived by his loving wife Vicky, his two adored children Annabel and Ryan; his mom Renee, a sister Barbara (Paul) Jaycox; and their children Logan, Blake, Ava, and Lily; and his mother-in-law Cindy Catherine, his father-in-law Tim Catherine; and his sisters-in-law, Stephanie (Chris) Strong; and their children Ellie and Violet; and Kristen Catherine.

He is preceded in death by his father Russell Sansouci.

Growing up, Eric had an intense passion for baseball. He started playing at 3 years old and found himself being a 3-year Varsity starter at his high school, Hazelwood West, in St. Louis, MO.  He was a 2-time All-Conference Selection in Center Field. As a senior, he was selected by USA baseball as one of the nation’s top 144 high school baseball players to compete in the 2001 Jr. Olympic Tournament of Stars. After high school, Eric played for Forest Park Community College in St. Louis, MO where he was an All-Conference/All-Region XVI selection in Center Field. Eric once held the single season and career stolen base records at both his high school and junior college.

Eric continued his collegiate career at D1 Northern Illinois University where he was a 2-year starter in the outfield, an All Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament selection, and NIU’s 2005 Defensive Player of the Year. As a senior at NIU, he was tops in all NCAA D-1 schools with 17 outfield assists and held the single season outfield assists record at NIU, as well as MAC. He graduated from NIU with a bachelor’s degree in Economics with an emphasis in Mathematics. Following college, Eric played professionally for the Gateway Grizzlies minor league baseball club in the Frontier League. He was also a founding member and the President & Managing Director of the EXPRESS Baseball Club.

More recently, Eric combined his love of his family and passion for baseball by coaching teams for both his daughter, Annabel, and his son, Ryan. He was a loving, dedicated father and husband.  He met and fell in love with his wife, Vicky, in college, and they built their life in Batavia, IL.  This year would have been 10 years they were married. Eric was an amazing husband. As a couple, Eric and Vicky enjoyed music, travelling, sports, and time at home with their children. Being a father was Eric’s biggest accomplishment. He loved every second with his children. As a family, they enjoyed bowling, fishing, travelling, and playing backyard baseball.  He was employed at Sentinel Technologies in Downers Grove for 8 years, most recently holding the position Senior Sales Executive and Team Lead in Sales.  He was proud to be a part of the Sentinel family and was consistently one of the top performers in the company.  His talents and professionalism were exemplary.  He valued the relationships he formed with both his teammates and his clients and was honored by their loyalty and trust.

He will be missed by all.
