Ernest Keith Jaeger
November 8, 1967 - May 26, 2020 Ernest Keith Jaeger, 52, of Aurora passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at his home following a battle with cancer. Ernest was born November 8, 1967 of in Friendship, WI the son of Ronald and Geneva (Kukla) Jaeger. He was united in marriage to Lisa Farley February 4, 1995 in Oak Brook, IL. Ernie graduated from Timothy Christian High School in Elmhurst Illinois in 1985. He married Lisa Farley on February 4, 1995. They have two children, Maxwell and Nicholas and these were his greatest joy. He worked in the family business, A Accurate Door Service Inc. as a youngster and he became president of the company in 2016. The Accurate Family is his second family and he was proud of every single member of this team. Ernie’s storytelling ability filled friends and family with laughter. From his childhood antics of the Sewer Rat Gang to the many mishaps with sharp objects, he kept all he met engaged and entertained. When he wasn’t telling his infamous stories, he was ordering food from one of his favorites, and he had many. Food was the family hobby. If there was a service call or a job in Melrose Park, Ernie ate Johnnie’s, in Elmhurst, it was Roberto’s and down south, it was Hog Wild. And when it was time to celebrate an event, it was no-holds-barred . There were appetizers, a multi- course meal and, of course, all the desserts he could gather up. He always made sure everyone had plenty of food and laughter And if kids were coming to the house, the “jumpy thing” was out. Rules made life so easy for Ernie and those around him. He continued to add to his rules all the way to the end. I only do one thing a day. How many desserts does one order? ...All of them How does one travel? ... First Class What do you do after you get a fast food order? ...Stop before leaving the drive thru and check every item in the bag - every time! What kind of ice do you use? ...Clear ice (now known as Ernie Ice) If Australian lobster tail is on the menu ...you order it. Never put steak sauce on a steak he makes or orders...never! If it’s good enough to have one, it’s good enough to have four. Where do you not want to be during a pandemic? ...In the hospital How do you see a movie? ...four seats at IPIC His humor was never-ending and unforgettable, just as his memory will be. Gratitude and generosity flowed through Ernie to everyone he encountered. His passion was to help those in the community find their gifts and their greatness. He supported many art, athletic and philanthropic organizations in the community that did just that. One of his greatest achievements was being an integral part of raising money for the turf field at Batavia High School where thousands of children of all ages get to explore their talents. In this same way, he wanted to support his brothers and sisters in the garage door industry to ensure they could thrive by passing on his knowledge, business tips and .... He made sacrifices throughout the years that he is hopeful others would not have to make if they had better business acumen, spiritual and life balance. He was in the process, with his wife and business coach, of setting up an organization that would support dealers and technicians across the nation. This organization will provide training and coaching scholarships to ensure financial stability for technicians and dealers, safety and quality for customers and allow technicians the freedom to do what they want. Through this organization, his gratitude and generosity will continue to flow. He is survived by his wife Lisa; two sons Maxwell (Katie Holzkopf) Jaeger and Nicholas Jaeger; his parents Ronald and Geneva Jaeger; four brothers, Eric (Brenda) Jaeger, Peter (Irene) Jaeger, Joshua (Lynnette) Jaeger and David Jaeger; and several nieces nephews and many friends. A memorial service will be held on June 27, 2020 at A Accurate Door Service in Aurora. The memorial event will be broadcasted remotely via live zooming. Details for the event, how to access zoom and any memorial donations will be posted on www.aaccuratedoor.com. Donations to Ernie’s favorite organizations will be posted on this page.
