Geraldine Dolores Dvorak

Geraldine Dolores Dvorak, 98, of North Aurora, IL passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, at Asbury Gardens in North Aurora, IL. She was born October 29, 1924, in Chicago, IL the daughter of George and Lenore (Hamilton) Thompkins.  She was united in marriage to Edward Frank Dvorak in May of 1947. 

Geraldine was an active adventurous woman.  She loved to travel and was a member of the Sierra Club for many years.  Throughout her life, she was a yoga instructor and a volunteer. Always looking to give back to mankind, Geraldine volunteered to build homes for Habitat for Humanity.  Faith, worship, and community involvement kept Geraldine grounded. She was a longtime member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Naperville.  

She is survived by her six children, Joseph (Barbara) Dvorak, Barbara (Oscar) Lopez, Jennifer (Michael) Hoy, Edward (Cindy) Dvorak, Jim (Anne) Hauert, and Geraldine Reid; eight grandchildren Katherine Dvorak, Justin (Ella) Dvorak, Shayne (Bill) Birkmeier, Jessica (Jeff) Studnicka, Melissa (Scott) Rowe; six great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Birkmeier, Grayson Birkmeier, Logan Studnicka, Piper Studnicka, Carson Rowe, and Jillian Rowe; and a sister Mary Barr. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, and a son-in-law Ken Reid.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 13, 2023, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M.  The committal services will be held at 12:45 P.M. Friday at St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel Belmont and Cumberland Avenues River Grove, IL.
