Joy Ann Grammer

Joy Ann Grammer, 90, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at her home, in Batavia.  She was born on June 20, 1930, in Chicago, the daughter of August and Margaret (Kuchar) Pahl.  She was united in marriage to Orville Grammer, on March 3, 1956, in Chicago, IL.   They raised four children together.

Joy enjoyed life and the many things it had to offer.  She loved golfing with her husband and sister and was sad she did not get to golf this year, due to Covid-19.  She loved family and was a true fan for her local grandchildren, attending their sporting events regularly throughout their youth.  In recent years, she would have to limit her cheers to her favorite home team, the Chicago White Sox.  Joy was very faithful to her church, First United Methodist of West Chicago, and to the Order of the Eastern Star of Illinois.  She was a faithful member of the Order for 71 years and active every bit of it. She loved the Order and the many many friends, throughout the state, that she gained through her membership.

She is survived by her loving husband Orville; two children Lorri (Dave) Schulz and Michael (Annie) Grammer; nine grandchildren, Adam, Jake, Luke and Zack Schulz and Matt, Steven, Andy (Karina), Carla and Kenny Grammer; five great-grandchildren, Morgan, Jacob, William, Mia and Gissela; one sister Lois Jean Pahl.

She is preceded in death by her two children Cheryl Farmer and Mark Grammer. 

Visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday, October 30, 2020, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL.  The service of the Easter Star will begin at 7:00 P.M. immediately follow by a religious funeral service.
