Jack Moskwa

Jack Moskwa transitioned into Heaven January 4, 2021 at the age of 85 years young.  He was born in Detroit, MI to John and Francis (Standard) Moskwa.  United in marriage to Delores Newton on December 18, 1961.

He served in the US Army as a Unit Supply Specialist at age 17 and was he was honorably discharged.

Jack will be remembered as a loving husband, a good man, a better father, a wonderful grandfather, and a fantastic friend.  He never met a stranger and would give the shirt off his back – literally – to anyone who would ask.   Jack had a welcoming, playful nature and overall easygoing temperament.  As time allowed, he could be found enjoying many sports, including racquetball, tennis, snorkeling, boxing, diving, swimming, fishing, and football.  Among his favorite things to say was, “Do onto others as you would have them do onto you!”  He lived this golden rule and touched many lives that only heaven can count.   

 He is survived by his wife, Delores Moskwa (nee Newton); his children – Sean (Janet) Moskwa, Wendy (Bob) Kolodzinski (nee Moskwa), and Cindy (Dennis) Allen (nee Moskwa); his eight grandchildren – Stephen Durham, Jackie Allen, Haley Durham, Alex Moskwa, Brendan Allen, Taylor Driskill, Matthew Allen, and Amanda Moskwa; his siblings – Johnny, Barb, and Fran.

He is proceeded in death by his parents and his siblings, Stanley “Stosh”, Marie, Delores, and Lucy.  

Jack will be laid to rest on January 11, 2021 at 11:30am at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery 20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jack’s name may be made to Wounded Warriors Project:  https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/default.aspx?tsid=10043&ovr_acv_id=5246
