William R. Ludemann, age 93, of St. Charles, formerly of Westchester, IL, passed away 01/24/2017. He was born July 30, 1923 to William and Ellen Ludemann in Oak Park, IL. He served in the 10th Mountain Division in Italy during WWII and earned a purple heart, and a bronze star. Following his successful career as a plumbing contractor, he enjoyed his retirement years fishing, gardening, painting, and spending time with his family. He was an early member of the Westchester Community Church.
He is survived by his three children; William (Carol) Ludemann, Robert (Betsy) Ludemann, Judy (Glenn) Mastalski, ten grand-children; Julie (Josh) Ludemann Muenster, Mark (Heather) Ludemann, Brett (Katherine Riser) Ludemann, Matthew (Julianna Bellipanni) Ludemann, Robert Ludemann, Jonathan Ludemann, Elizabeth Ludemann, Sarah (Robert) Klemm, Rachel (David) Zern, Michael Mastalski, five great-grandchildren; Alice Ludemann, Will Ludemann, Eloise Ludemann, Kaylee Klemm, and Jonathan Klemm.
William was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, sisters; Mildred Ludemann, and Ruth Tracey.
Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the St. Charles Congregational United Church of Christ, 40W451 Fox Mill Blvd., St. Charles, IL 60175. Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tenth Mountain Division Foundation, 133 South Van Gordon St. Suite 200, Lakewood, CO 80228.
