Joan Irene Sanderson

Joan Irene Sanderson, 86, of Wheaton, Il., passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021, with her daughter by her side at Inspirations of St. Charles.  Joan was born on July 2, 1935, in Chicago, Il., the daughter of Arthur and Irene (nee. Kujawa) Louvar.  Wife of the late W.B. Sanderson. 

Joan was a long- time employee as Supervisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago for 35 years.

Joan is survived by her loving daughter, Nancy (Phil) Bannos; four grandchildren, Robert (Alicia) Schaefer, Christopher (Jasmine) Schaefer, John Bannos and Steven Bannos; two great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Tommy Schaefer; sister, Marilyn O’Leary; and a brother, Arthur K. (Nancy) Louvar, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, W.B. Sanderson; daughter, Deborah Schaefer; step-son, Michael Sanderson; sister, Geraldine Kraus.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. on Friday, September 24, 2021, at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, 480 S. Park Blvd. Glen Ellyn, Il. 60134.  A funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 A.M. also at the church.  Interment will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
