Judith Cano

Judith Ann Cano, 81, of Aurora and formerly of Chicago passed away Friday, January 7, 2022, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva, IL.  She was born August 29, 1940, in Chicago the daughter of John and Sonja (Zalinski) Masus.

Born with the “gift of gab”, Judy was an artist and granted a scholarship at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago.  Family was very important to Judy, she stayed home to raise her two adored children before then becoming a nurse. A kindhearted and loving woman, she was described to be like a ray of sunshine. Judy had a presence about her that brought positivity and motivation to those around her.  She loved God, life and lived it to the fullest.  Her laughs were quite contagious. She was passionate about nature and definitely had a green thumb. Judy has lived at Constitution House in Aurora for the past fourteen years.     

She is survived by her two children, Lisa (Ron) Geiger, of St. Charles and Christian Cano; three grandchildren, Melissa (Tom) Linas, Sonja Geiger, and Eric Cano; and a great grandson Alex Linas; a sister-in-law, Karen Masus, her nephew Todd Masus and his two children Nate and Nick. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother John Masus.

A memorial Mass will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 29, 2022, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Downtown, 400 Cedar Street St. Charles, IL.
