Judy Marie Frigolett
March 26, 1947 - June 7, 2022 Judy Marie Frigolett, 75, of Batavia passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at her home surrounded by her daughters and husband. She was born March 26, 1947, in Goodland, Kansas the second daughter of Ralph and Lois (Wray) Stevens. She was united in marriage to Donald James Frigolett on June 12, 1971 in Elmhurst, Illinois. Judy grew up in a small farm town of Burlington, Colorado where everyone knew everyone. She graduated in a class of about thirty in 1965. She kept in touch through class reunions over the years. She attended junior college in Greely, Colorado and began work in Denver for a couple of years. Afterwards, she followed her sister to Schaumburg, Illinois and started working at Motorola. While there, she was introduced to Donald through mutual coworkers and at first sight, they knew. Six months later they were engaged and six months after that they were married. In the summer of 1973, their first daughter, Jamison, was born. Three years later and two weeks shy of their second daughter’s, Lori, birth, they moved to Batavia. At seven months into her third pregnancy, they found out she was having twins. In the spring of 1982, Andrea and Sarah were welcomed into the world and their family was complete. Judy was an incredible mom and to raise four girls was her greatest joy. She was the perfect homemaker and actually liked to do laundry. She loved to cook and try new recipes, bake daily treats for the family and sew matching outfits. While the girls were growing up, she made time to nurture friendships with other moms in the neighborhood - friendships that lasted a lifetime. She was the school secretary for many years at H.C. Storm Elementary School and will be remembered for her welcoming smile. Later on, she was a bookkeeper for Murray Properties and enjoyed her time there. No matter what hat she wore, she was the same person to all. She was present for the birth of all nine of her grandchildren. Next to being a mother, she loved every minute of being a Grandma/Grammy. Her love language was gift giving and she had a knack for finding the perfect gifts to spoil her grandchildren. She enjoyed making each holiday special, attending baseball games, and traveling back and forth to Dallas and Denver to visit the youngest grandchildren. Judy was wise, had a contagious laugh and her intuition was spot on. She was strong and determined but in the most gentle way. She gave honest advice and always in perfect timing, never overstepping. She was a realist and lived in the gray. She would say, “don’t worry until you have something to worry about,” and even if she did, she would hand that over to God and knew it would work itself out. She was organized and made the house a home; a place for everything and everything in its place. Her life was committed to being a devoted wife, dedicated mother, doting grandmother and true friend. When Judy was diagnosed with cancer in the spring of 2021, she knew the battle would be hard but had a total peace within her that she shared with those around her. She faced it with faith, courage and assurance. Judy is survived by her husband, Donald; her daughters, Jamison (Christopher) Scott of Elburn, IL, Lori (Ryan) Peterson of Batavia, IL, Andrea (John) Walther of Dallas, TX and Sarah (Adrian) Szram of Breckenridge, CO; her nine grandchildren, Henri, Maizie and Olive Scott, Ella, Hayden and Carter Peterson, Sloane Walther and Sylvia and Arden Szram; her sister, Mary Jo (Willard) Huppert of Fort Collins, CO and her three nieces and one nephew. She is preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Avenue, Batavia, IL 60510. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow. Graveside Committal will be at Union Cemetery, 1206 N. 5th Avenue, St. Charles, IL 60174 after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to TLC Pregnancy Services, 825 Dundee Avenue, Elgin, IL 60120. |
