Mary Anne Erickson, age 94, of St. Charles was called home to the Lord Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Pineview Care Center in St. Charles.
She was born January 10, 1923 in Geneva, Illinois to Gust and Grace Carlson. On June 10, 1942, she married the love of her life, Richard Erickson in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a life-long member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she was confirmed in 1936 and was very involved in various church activities. Mary Anne spent most of her life in St. Charles and lived 64 years in her home on the east side. After high school, she was a comptometer operator at Howell Company in St. Charles. She was a devoted homemaker and wonderful mother. She helped her husband run Geneva Dry Goods for a number of years. Later after the children were older, Mary Anne resumed comptometer processing for the Farm Bureau and was a secretary at the Geneva office of the Aurora Beacon News where her husband was also employed. She enjoyed family vacations and road trips with her husband. She was a fantastic cook and baker, an avid reader, loved music and playing the organ, singing hymns, and playing games especially solitaire. For many years, she was a devoted caregiver to her husband. She was a sweet, loving and caring person who truly enjoyed family and her many friends who touched her life. She had a long and wonderful life and was always thankful for all of the visits, phone calls, card and letters from family and friends.
Mary Anne is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Stuttle of Plano, two sons, Gregg (Jane) of Elburn and Gary (Tracy) of Maple Park, five grandchildren, Matthew Stuttle, Melissa (Michael) Cann, Lauren (Peter) Vogt, Nathan (Carrie) Erickson and Steven (Julie) Stuttle, eight great grandchildren, a step sister, Gladys Anderson and several nieces and nephews.
