July 9, 1931 - December 12, 2016
Robert R. Freiny, born July 9th, 1931 in Bensenville, IL, passed unexpectedly into Heaven Eternal on December 12th, 2016 in St. Charles, IL.
“Bob†was a fierce family man and who was larger than life. He began working at age twelve fixing train engines to support his family when his father passed away. The drive to take care of family never left him; his generosity to friends in need was admirable. Bob entered the United States Air Force in November of 1953 and served in Korea, installing HVAC at the service base and servicing airplane engines. Upon discharge, he went to work at Wagner Heating and Ventilating. He met his beloved wife of 61 years, Anna, soon after. They were married on November 12th, 1955. Bob continued his hard work putting HVAC into homes and was an Itasca volunteer firefighter. Soon he bought and developed Wagner Heating and Ventilation of Addison into a successful commercial HVAC business, where he cared greatly for his employees.
As his family grew and married, each spouse and child became someone he embraced as his own. He blessed those who let him in their hearts with an unwavering love. In retirement, Bob loved having his family, good books, his newspaper around him, as well as traveling to many places, especially Naples, FL.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Mary, and his siblings, Donald and Betty. He was also heartbreakingly preceded by his oldest son, Robert “Bobby†Freiny, who found the way home to Heaven first and was waiting to take Dad’s hand.
A Visitation will be held 4-7:00 P.M. Friday. December 16, 2016 at Yurs Funeral Home 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles, IL. A funeral service will be held 10 A.M. Saturday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church 101 S. 6th Ave. St. Charles. Memorials may be made to St. Marks or Lazarus House in St. Charles.Send Flowers View / Sign Guestbook
