John Elmer Walton, died Sept., 14, 2016 at home in St. Charles, Illinois.
He was born Nov., 14, 1934 at home in Libertyville, Illinois. He was the eldest son of Elmer John Walton and Mattie Fredericka (nee Goodman). John graduated from Lake forest High school in 1954. He had been employed by Marshall Fields. While he was employed by Marshall Fields as an Electrical Engineer and Elevator maintenance operator, he met and married the love of his life, Dorothy. He married Dorothy Ellen Ploense on June 10, 1960 in Chicago. In 1974 John moved his family out of Chicago to St. Charles, Illinois. Where he lived out the rest of his life and shared many wonderful memories with his love Dorothy.
After 45 years of service at Marshall Fields, John retired. John and Dorothy enjoyed retired life. They purchased a time share in Cancun. The Cancun trips was his favorite time of year. John loved to share his memories of their time in Cancun. They also traveled to Alaska and Hawaii.
John is survived by his wife Dorothy, his son James Walton of Batavia, Illinois, Pam ( Ron) Cain, Polo, Illinois. His grandchildren Jennifer Walton of Batavia, Brandon Cain of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Jacob Cain, of Polo, Illinois, Ethan Cain of Dubuque, IA, Nicholas Cain of Polo, Illinois. His sibling, Mary (the late Karl) Heuer, Vivian (Walter) Howlett, Barbara (Robert) Walton-Casperson, Linda (Lee) Lesner, George (Cathy) Walton, Dean Walton, Gene (the Late Sharon) Walton, Jason Walton, Joyce ( Steven) Kinch, Gordon ( Sandra) Walton and many Nieces and Nephews.
John was preceded in Death by his Parents, Elmer and Fredericka. His beloved sibling Katherine Priddy, Richard Walton, Clifford Walton and Robert Walton. Nephews: Keith Brandt and William Walton, Robert Walton Jr.
Memorial Service for John Walton will be held at the3:00 PM Sunday at the Salvation Army church in St. Charles. Cremation rights were observed. His ashes will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in Libertyville, Illinois near his parents and sibling.
