Lucille Amy Thomas
September 26, 1929 - February 18, 2022 Lucille Amy Thomas, 92, of Batavia, Il., formerly of St. Charles, Il., passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022, surrounded by her family at the Michaelsen Health Care Center of Batavia, IL. Lucille was born September 26, 1929, in Sublette, IL., the daughter of Lewis and Amy (nee. Rosenkrans) Miller. Lucille graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Iowa Wesleyan College. She worked at Colonial Ice Cream for 45 years as a bookkeeper. Once moving to The Holmstad she found joy in volunteering there in several capacities. She also volunteered at the Northern Illinois Food Bank. She has been part of the Rush University Memory and Aging Project since 2009. She was a lifelong member of the Fox Valley Chapter 265 Order of the Eastern Star of Illinois. Lucille is survived by her three children, Dan (Cathy) Thomas, Holly (Michael Stoffa) DeWitte, Tim (Debbie) Thomas; her eight grandchildren, Shawn (Melissa) DeWitte, Aimee (Brandon) Smith, MacKinzie DeWitte, Rebecca (Andy Rial) Caprio, Ian (Angela) Thomas, Benjamin (Alyssa) Thomas, Adam (Fiancée, Katie) Thomas, and Tory Thomas; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Amy and Lewis E. Miller, two brothers, Roger Miller and Lewis L. Miller, and her son-in-law, Dennis DeWitte. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Moss-Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third Street, St. Charles, Il. 60174. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M. also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Wyoming Township Cemetery in Paw Paw, Il. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Lucille’s name may be made to Northern Illinois Food Bank or the Holmstad’s Benevolent Fund.
