Mariann White
August 6, 1928 - December 4, 2020 Mariann White (nee Carlson) went to her eternal rest on Friday, December 4, 2020 at The Grove of St. Charles. She was born August 6, 1928 in Geneva, IL the daughter of Seth and Anna (nee Nelson) Carlson. Mariann lived most of her life in the Batavia area except for a few years when she lived in California and Texas. She graduated from Batavia High School in 1946 and worked as a secretary for many years retiring from Liquid Container in 1994. Marian was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Batavia and Viljan Lodge #349, VASA Order of America. She was active for many years in Sweet Adelines women’s barbershop singing and was founder of two women’s barbershop choruses. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many dear friends. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ann Steinmetz of Michigan, her son James Neil White of Burlington, IL; her granddaughters Emily Ann White and Lindsey Marie White of Geneva; and a niece Marcia (Mike) Hanlon, of Batavia. She is preceded in death by her parents, Seth and Anna Carlson, a brother Erving C. Carlson, her sister-in-law Birgit V. Carlson and her niece Debra Carlson Pfister. Due to Covid-19 a private funeral service was held, she was laid to rest in River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia, IL.
