Marilyn Heyob, 96, a lifelong resident of St. Charles, passed away November 25, 2022. She was born May 13, 1926, in St. Charles, IL the daughter of George and Lena (Ross) Budde. She was united in marriage to Jacob Heyob February 7, 1948, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in St. Charles. Marilyn was the very last of her generation. She was a lifetime journalist and historian, who enjoyed cataloging facts about her beloved St. Charles community and St. Patrick Catholic Church. She leaves behind volumes of information for family histories. She loved to read! She loved “talk” radio and she loved sports. She and Jake enthusiastically supported their kids in their years of football, baseball, basketball, and cheerleading. They were part of the parent group that started the Saints high school booster club. Marilyn loved people, took note of information about them, and never forgot it. She was a good Mom and always welcomed anyone that needed to talk. The family never went hungry, but contrary to what she thought, she was not a particularly good cook!!! She is survived by her two children, Mary Lynn (Herb) Pasteur of St. Charles and Alan (Beth) Heyob of Elgin; a daughter in law Beth Heyob of Florida; four grandchildren, Jacob (Michelle), Todd and Tim Pasteur and Sally Heyob; and two great grandchildren Cloey and Aidan Pasteur. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Jacob Heyob, a son Jim Heyob, and her siblings, Bill, Joe, and George Budde and Bernice Oddsen. Visitation will be held 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 2, 2022, at Moss-Norris Funeral Home, 100 South Third Street St. Charles, IL. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. |
