Marlene Helena Heinen

Marlene Helena Heinen, 86, of North Aurora, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2023, at her home. She was born August 9, 1936, in Humphrey, NE the daughter of Carl and Ann (Korte) Zimmerman. She attended and graduated from Humphrey High School. On June 5, 1954, she was united in marriage to John Anthony Heinen in Ft. Anniston, AL. After completing John’s active military service, they relocated to the Chicago area, eventually settling down in North Aurora. Marlene worked many jobs throughout her life. Her last 15 years were spent at Heartland Blood Center. She was active at Blessed Sacrament Church and loved playing cards and spending valuable time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be missed by all. She is survived by her sister Dolores Pfeifer, five children; Susan (James) Long, Cynthia (Steven) Krause, Randy Heinen, Daniel (Melissa) Heinen, and Russell (Elaine) Heinen; twelve grandchildren, Amanda, Kristen, Timothy, Avea, Alex, Laura, Tyler, Joshua, Maddie, Neal, Trevor and Tristen, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband John; parents Carl and Ann Zimmerman; stepmother Irene; brother-in-law Joe Pfeifer: daughter Catherine Birdsall; and son Timothy Heinen. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 801 Oak St., North Aurora, Il. 60542. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 A.M. also at the church. The interment will be in Marywood Cemetery in Aurora, Il. Memorial donations in Marlene’s name may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. |
