Myrna J. Cowles

Myrna “Mickey” Jane Cowles, age 86, of Batavia, IL passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021.

Myrna was born November 8, 1934, in Chicago, IL to William John and Gertrude Cowles (nee Barnett). She never married and had no children.

Myrna received her BA at Ottawa University, and Masters at Southern Illinois University. She worked in the social work field then became a computer analyst.

She was an active member of Fox Valley Unity. Myrna served several terms as treasurer as well as participated in many other event planning functions. She loved organizing game nights. She touched many lives and was a cornerstone of the church. Myrna also volunteered in the community for example, at Youth Outlook.

Myrna took great pride in and unconditionally loved and supported her family. She started the traditional Cowles family recipes for Christmas fruit cakes and scones in early November. Her loving spirit will be missed.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Avenue, Batavia, IL 60510 (630) 879-7900, interment will be private.
