Randall William Barkei
 October 15, 1953 - January 24, 2022 Randall “Randy” Barkei, 68, of Elburn, IL, formerly of Batavia, IL, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Rush Copley Medical Center. Randy was born on October 15, 1953, in Aurora, IL. He was the son of George and Margaret (Konen) Barkei. Randy was a 1971 Batavia Highschool graduate. He was united in marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Kathleen “Kathy” Perna on September 29, 1973, in Batavia. Randy was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Batavia since he was baptized as an infant. He and Kathy attended Holy Cross Junior High School at the original site of the Holy Cross and several of their grandchildren attended and currently attend today. Randy was a carpenter/contractor; a builder and residential home developer in the Fox Valley Area for over 35 years. Randy also enjoyed farming as he was raised on the family farm on Hart Road in Batavia. His passion was restoring his classic cars and his 1970 Chevelle convertible and his 1955 Chevy Belair were his pride and joy. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and snowmobiling with family and friends. Randy truly loved spending time with his family, especially his 12 grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy of almost 48 years, a lifelong friend and companion; his daughters, Brittany Kitzmiller, Courtney (Ben) Nelson, Rachel (Tim) Balles, and Breanne (Demetrius) Johnson; his son, Jared Barkei; his 12 grandchildren, Eric and Nathan Kitzmiller, Grace and Jacob Nelson, Vivian and Jack Balles, Chyna, Tre and Brooklynn Johnson and Dylan, Domenic and Daniel Barkei; his brother, Rodney (Patricia) Barkei; his sister, Shirley (Michael) McLean; his sister-in-law, Jane Cherco; his brothers-in-law, Kent Phillips, Steve Perna, Matt Perna, Chris (Stephanie) Perna, Adam (Niki) Perna and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial contributions in Randy's memory may be directed to Holy Cross Catholic School in Batavia. |
