Leo Robert Imbrey Jr

Leo Robert Imbery Jr., 78, of North Aurora, IL., formerly of Toledo, OH., passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva, IL.   Leo was born on August 3, 1942 in Toledo, OH, the son of Leo and Edith (nee. Rhode) Imbery, Sr.  He was united in marriage to Magdelyn French on December 5, 1964 in Toledo, OH.

Your passing came to us so unexpectedly. Our hearts are broken, our memories of you are great, and there are many. I will remember our first meeting. A young man so handsome, with a book under one arm, a pipe in the other hand, a tweed jacket, and looking so good. I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. Honey you gave us your all. You made us laugh, you made us cry, you showed us our faults, you did that so we could better ourselves. What a truly magnificent life we had together. A life filled with sacrifice, a life filled with love, a love that will carry us through for the rest of our lives, until God brings us all back together again. Thank you Honey for all you did for us. And for the love you shared with so many. We will miss you.

Our father was filled with selfless, hard working devotion to his family. He and his true love were together for 60 years and managed to raise 4 boys on a single, modest income. Leo will be remembered most for his strength, dedication, and devotion he shared so selflessly with his family. He started an engineering career in the plastics industry and retiring from that industry many years later. Leo did not quit there however, long into his retirement, he had worked tirelessly until his death as a Kaneland school bus driver, delivering countless number of students safely to their destinations. He truly loved this job. He will be missed and forever loved by family and friends alike.

Leo is survived by his loving wife, Magdelyn French, his four sons; Daniel Imbery, Bryant (Niki) Imbery, Matthew (Julieta) Imbery, Jamie (Colleen) Imbery; ten grandchildren, Alyssa, Hailey, Victoria, Abigail, Jacob, Jordan, Matthew Jr., Emily, Autumn, and Noah; one sister, Diane (Bill) Duling; one brother, Tim (Jane) Imbery.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life service will be held at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, 155 N Prince Crossing Rd., West Chicago, IL 60185 on Sunday, May 23^rd at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family of Leo R. Imbery Jr.
