Burial Location

April 20, 1951 - April 27, 2017

David T Cox, 66, of Geneva, died April 27, 2017. He was born on April 20, 1951 to William T and Ethel M (Williams) Cox in Davenport, Iowa. Dave and his family moved to Geneva in 1956 to begin kindergarten with Mrs. Nelson at Fourth St. School.
Dave met Lois on April Fool’s Day in 1981 and asked her to marry him that night. They secretly wed at a friend’s house on March 12, 1985. He loved to “fix” things and tinker at gardening.

Dave is survived by 3 children: Matthew (Jennifer), Patrick (Amber) and Terra Cox along with 3 grandchildren: Lindsay, Evan and Joslynn and his sister, Billie Cox and nieces Tracey and Renee Lightburn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a proud member of the Geneva Class of 1969 and co-captain of the undefeated football team his senior season. Close friendships from school endured and flourished during his life. He served in the US Army Corps of Engineers from 1971-77 in Alaska. When he returned, he earned his certification as a Plumber and Pipe-fitter and gained the respect of his coworkers.
More recently, he was an asset to the Inflatable Monkey trivia team. Good times….

Donations may be made to the Geneva Sports Boosters, American Legion or Fox Valley Hospice.
Memorial visitation will be held on May 1 from 4-7. Service following at 7 at Yurs Funeral home, 1771 W State St, Geneva, IL 60134.
