Sheila Mae Foust

Sheila Mae Foust (nee McCole), 95, of Batavia, IL, formerly of Kalamazoo, MI, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 12, 2020, surrounded by her family.  She was born on July 12, 1924 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of James and Grace (nee Phelps) McCole.  She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Roger Harris Foust, on August 24, 1943.

When her six children were young, Sheila was a home maker, but later served as a bank teller at the First National Bank in downtown Kalamazoo, MI.  But her greatest joy in life was spending time with her loving family. 

Sheila is survived by her six children, Stephen (Nancy) Foust, Marguerite (Melvin) Deephouse, Janice Jett, Marsha (late Robert) Sikkema, Julie (Simon) Shipp, and Robin (Daniel) Ten Cate; her seven grandchildren, Jacob Foust, Brian (Jerrit) Deephouse, David (Amanda) Deephouse, Julie Schuler, Kelley (Howard) McNees, Leah Olson, Hannah Steffic, and her eight great-grandchildren, Katelynn and Jonathan Deephouse, Grace Deephouse, Casie Rayman, Brianna Town, Karley Crawford and Nicholas and Brandon McNees.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger, her parents, a grandson, Darin Deephouse, and her sisters, Flavia Jane Maxam and Caroline Anne Clark.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Friday, January 17, 2020 at Moss Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL. 60510.  A memorial service will be held at a later date at St Michael Lutheran Church in Portage, MI.  Interment will be held privately at Battle Creek Memorial Park in Battle Creek, MI.
