Sylvia Ellen Chiplis

Sylvia Ellen Chiplis, 75, of Batavia passed away Thurs, December 2, 2021, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva, IL. She was born in Geneva, IL the daughter of George and Audrey (nee Millett) Moulding. She was united in marriage to Larry Chiplis February 6, 1965, in West Chicago, IL. Sylvia was affectionately known as the “cookie lady” by the Louise White School Children. Sylvia would pass out cookies to the students as they passed her home coming or going to school. She enjoyed caring for her large family. She was extremely talented in the kitchen and loved to bake for her family and friends. As a talented homemaker she knitted, sewed, and crocheted for all family and friends’ newborn babies. Her love, care and kindness will forever be missed but never forgotten. She is survived by her husband Larry; six children, Amy (Brian) Jones, Emily (Mark) Bickel, Margaret (Jason) LeKander, Andrew (Gena) Chiplis, Kathryn (Daniel) Forst, Elizabeth (Fiancé Leonardo Hernandez) Chiplis; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; three sisters, Judy Sutphin, Anita (Roy) Karp, Mary (Tim) Morrow; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Thomas Moulding. A private memorial service was held. |
