Thomas Marven Lambert
 December 16, 1950 - August 24, 2022 Thomas Marven Lambert, 71, of Batavia passed away “End of Watch” Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at his home surround by his loving family. Tom was born December 16, 1950, in Chicago the son of Marven and Mary Grace (Ryan) Lambert. He was united in marriage to Victoria Bush July 15, 1972, in Bellwood, IL Tom was a Chicago native who was raised as a proud and honorable American. Tom enlisted into the United States Marine Corp from 1969 and served until 1975. He obtained his bachelor's degree from Judson University with a degree in criminal justice. Tom also is a graduate of the Northwestern Staffing Command. Tom’s entire life was dedicated to the service of his country and his community. In 1973, while still serving in the Marine Corps Reserves, he took employment with the City of Batavia as a police officer. During Tom’s successful and rewarding career he had been given many awards; Batavia Police officer of the Year, Kane County Officer of the year, State of Illinois Policeman of the year nominee, and was awarded the medal of valor. Tom eventually retired in 2004 after serving in many different assignments but retired as the Administrative Sergeant. Although Tom was passionate about his career and service to his community, he did enjoy his downtime. Tom built his dream home in Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin. He enjoyed spending time in Wisconsin with his family his friends and especially his dog Daisy. Being just a father and a grandfather wasn’t enough Tom was a role model to his kids and grandkids who lead by great example. Tom stayed true to his Chicago roots and has been a lifelong Fan of the White Sox and Chicago Bears. Tom is survived by his wife Vicki Lambert; two children Rachel Lambert and Ryan Lambert; five grandchildren, Ashely Lambert, Zachary Bogden, Zoey Bogden, Anthony Lambert, and Thomas Haney; his siblings, Timothy (Terri) Lambert, Susan Lambert, Mary Lambert, and Marvin (Dawn) Lambert, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson Thomas Bogden, and a brother Patrick Lambert. Visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, August 29, 2022, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Holy Cross Catholic Church 2300 Main Street Batavia, IL. |
