September 7, 1933 - November 14, 2021

Amelia Salasek, age 88 of St. Charles (born to Carmella and Anthony) passed away Nov. 14, 2021.  Loving Wife of Raymond (dec.), Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Surviving children: Son -Joe Salasek (Deanna) and children Jessica (Mike) and their children Penny and Violet, Adam (Megan), Benjamin and his two children Damien and Gabriel, step children Frank (Jen) and their two children Theo and Frankie, Joanna. Daughter- Patti Hurley (Jay) and children Ashley, Sarah, Brittany (Scotty) and their two children Amelia and Brayden, Kyle, Rebecca. Daughter- Toni Biedron (Timothy) and children Matthew (Amanda), Stephanie (Bristol), Melissa (Jefferson). After growing up in the back of her family’s small grocery store in Chicago, Amy met her beloved husband Ray at work. She was a secretary in the office where he worked. After dating for three years, they married and moved to California for work. They had their three children, later moving back to Illinois. Amy enjoyed being involved in her church, St. Odilo, being the president of the Altar and Rosary Society, a Girl Scout leader, was involved with the parents club and volunteered for numerous activities. Mom taught us the importance of volunteering. She also worked at Carson’s store in the drapery department for many years. Mom always made sure we were involved in activities, she caringly drove us to soccer, ballet, swimming and piano lessons. Mom enjoyed cooking and we enjoyed eating her homemade spaghetti sauce, ravioli, her carmelitas and apple slices. She was happiest when she was surrounded by family. Now, when we picture mom, we picture her with a large smile and laughing. We often laughed so hard we couldn’t stop. Although mom is now gone from this world and we will miss her dearly, her positive spirit lives in our hearts, and in our memories. Her unconditional love, caring and laughter will be forever in our hearts and live on through her children and grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Friday at Yurs Funeral Home St. Charles.  Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church 400 Cedar Street St Charles. Burial will take place at Queen of Heaven Cemetery Hillside, Il.Guest BookShareEmailPrint
