September 22, 1949 - June 20, 2024

Arthur William Larson, 74, died at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, June 20, after a 7-year battle with lung cancer. The son of Nathan and Esther, Arthur was born on September 22, 1949, in Aurora, Illinois. He grew up with 4 siblings in Geneva. He attended Harrison Street Elementary, and Geneva middle and high schools. He graduated from Geneva High School class of 1967. He attended Sterling College in Kansas before being drafted. He proudly served in the 82nd airborne division of the US Army from 1970 to 1972. On June 11, 1977, he married Joanne Czerwinski (nee Hagen) at Geneva Lutheran Church. He was proud to become father to two boys, Chad and Jason. They later welcomed a daughter, Kristina, to complete their family. They loved camping trips as a family when the kids were younger. He loved riding his Harley, taking trips out west, and visited Sturgis several times. Art, as he was called by all who knew him, spent over 50 years as a tool and die maker. He learned alongside his dad at Burgess Norton, and then opened his own shop, Prairie Machine and Tool, in Sugar Grove in the early 1990’s. He is survived by his wife, Joanne; 3 children, sons Chad (Shari) Czerwinski, and Jason (Michelle) Czerwinski, and daughter Kristina (Eric) Aden; six grandchildren – Rian, Katherine (John-Michel), Colin, Avery, Hadley and Emery; and his 4 siblings, Margaret (Rob), Linnea (Jeff), Calvin (Kathy), and Shelly (Mike), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan William Larson, and mother, Esther Jeanette Larson (nee Double), and his grandfather (and namesake) Arthur William Larson. The funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 24th at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 W. State Street in Geneva. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Geneva. Family and Friends will gather for visitation from 2-6:00 P.M., Sunday, June 23rd also at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 W. State Street in Geneva.
