Bertram J. Hoddinott Jr., age 89, passed away June 13, 2022, at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL.

He was born January 26, 1933, in Chicago, IL, to loving parents, Bertram Sr. and Gladys Hoddinott.

Bertram graduated from St. George High School in Evanston, and continued his education at St. Thomas College, in Minnesota. After graduation, Bertram attended and later graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago.

He served his country as a member of the Fifth Calvary Regiment of the U.S. Army, during the Korean Conflict.

He married the love of his life Barbara Jean Weissenborn on August 18, 1956, in St. Peter, Minnesota. They made almost 71 years of memories before grief came to call in January of 2022, when Barbara left this world a poorer place.

After graduating from the Art Institute of Chicago, Bertram began a lauded career in advertising, during which he won numerous awards, including a Cleo Award for his infamous Raid Bug Spray commercial.

Bert now leaves his daughters, Mary (Randy) Longbrake and Kate (Nick) Moss; his son Bertram J. Hoddinott III; one sister, Carolyn Hoddinott; four granddaughters: Caitlin (Bryant) Irwin, Reagan (Max) Gartner, Maggie Aylmer and Sadie Moss; three great-granddaughters, many loving nieces, nephews and a community of friends.

He is reunited with his loving wife Barbara; his parents, Bertram Sr. and Gladys Hoddinott; two sisters: Shirley Schmidt and Joan Lantzy.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
