July 5, 1944 - November 26, 2021

Charisse Andrea Kellogg Argabright was born on July 5th, 1944 at Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley, California to Naval Captain Frederic David Kellogg and Virginia Vivian Dupuis Kellogg. As a military child she was blessed to grow up living in some exotic places including Coronado, Yerba Buena Island (in the middle of the San Francisco Bay) and Yokosuka, Japan. These places developed her love for culture and art. She attended University of California at Berkeley where she majored in Art History. There she met Steven Cox Argabright of Chico, California – a Chemical Engineering Major. Steve enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and attended flight school. They married on December 26th, 1965 and Charisse again got to travel the world. On May 7th, 1967 they welcomed their first child Erin Lynn Thiesse in Cherry Point, North Carolina. In October 1967, Steve was sent to Vietnam on Active Duty as a jet pilot and Charisse moved back to California to be with her family. On May 18th, 1972 they were blessed with another child, David Coyt Argabright. The family moved several times along with Steve’s job finally settling in the Fox Valley Illinois area where both Erin and David married and raised their own families. Steve and Charisse bought a home in North Fort Myers and in 1996 became permanent Floridians. Charisse had a “Joie de Vivre” and sense of adventure. At 13 years old she built a raft and set sail in the San Francisco Bay only to be picked up by the Coast Guard who called her Father, the Captain of the Naval Base on the Island. She had a passion for art and a flare for teaching it to children. Similar to her mother, Ginny, she loved flowers and was involved in arranging many beautiful designs for weddings and events. She was also a skilled Decorator continuing with several clients to the present. Charisse’s passion for entertaining and cooking would have rivaled Martha Stewart. Most of all Charisse loved being a mother and her extended family and friends. She encouraged each and every one to learn from, get involved in and love and appreciate all things. Charisse was a true light in this world. She was loved by all and will be missed by many. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” Matthew 6:33 Contributions in Charisse’s memory may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society www.lls.org The Service will be live streamed on Zoom.
