January 30, 1997 - September 5, 2021 Connor Dunleavy, 24, was unexpectedly called home by the Lord on Sunday, September 5, 2021. He was greatly loved and cherished by all that knew him, friends and family alike. Connor was the son of Brian and Jeanne born on January 30, 1997 in Palos Heights, Illinois. He attended Marmion Academy in Aurora, Illinois and excelled in drill team armed exhibition with the Flannigan Rifles squad winning the national title in his junior year, 2014. He went on to the University of Notre Dame where he pursued his interest in the biological sciences while also  continuing his passion for English literature. He graduated in 2019 having received a double major in biological sciences and English. He went on to earn a Masters of Arts in Medical Science at Loyola University in Chicago in May, 2020. His drive and determination culminated in his acceptance to Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in August of this year. He enthusiastically embraced the SSOM community and all it had to offer. His joy was palpable in his pursuit of his life-long dream of becoming a physician. Connor spent long hours reading, working out, and most recently was working to perfect his golf skills having just picked up the game last year. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends on the course and rarely passed up an opportunity to play 18 (or more if time and schedule allowed!). Connor is survived by his parents, Brian and Jeanne (Asp) Dunleavy, his sister Sarah (20), grandmothers Florence Dunleavy and Barbara Asp, his best friend and life partner Joanna Collins, along with many beloved Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Fred Asp and Joseph Dunleavy. Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Thursday, September 9th at Yurs Funeral Homes of Geneva, 1771 W. State Street, Geneva. A funeral service will take place at 10am Friday, September 10th at Yurs Funeral Home of Geneva.Guest BookShareEmailPrint |
