August 2, 1950 - March 25, 2025

Craig Scott Coker, 74, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 25 after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was born to Leslie Raymond Coker and Suzanne Ogden Coker on August 2, 1950 in Oak Park, Illinois. When his mother remarried Richard J. Raysa, Craig was honored to become part of a loving blended family. On October 19, 1984 he married Peg Klim in Geneva, Illinois. Craig served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a proud member of St. Charles VFW Post 5036 where he had many loyal friends. Craig was happiest when he was on the water whether he was trolling for 25-pound salmon on Lake Michigan or ice fishing for perch on Clear Lake in Wisconsin. He was an avid Bears, White Sox, and Blackhawks fan. Craig was a good father and participated in many of his son’s activities. He was a Cub Scout pack leader, he chaperoned Scout camping trips, and taught youngsters how to ski, which allowed them to earn their snow sports merit badges. He also helped coach St. Charles Little League Baseball. He is survived by wife Peg, son Tom, sister Leslie Coker, sister Mary (Jimi) Raysa, and many cherished family members and friends. Peg extends her heartfelt gratitude to those who provided their loving support during Craig’s illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Rick and Bill Raysa, and sister Betty Raysa Nilsson. Visitation will be held from 1pm to 3pm on Sunday, April 6 at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 W. State Street in Geneva. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Monday, April 7 at Hosanna! Lutheran Church, 36W925 Red Gate Road in St. Charles. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Hosanna! Lutheran Church or a veteran’s charity of your choice.Guest BookShareEmailPrint
