David L. Pierson

David L. Pierson, 89, a longtime resident of Geneva and a resident of the Holmstad in Batavia passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023.  He was born July 10, 1933, in Geneva, IL the son of David E. Merle (nee Clever) Pierson, of Batavia, IL. 

The family moved to St. Charles, IL in 1944 and he graduated from St. Charles High School in 1951.  He proudly served in the United State Marine Corps from 1951 to 1954, earning the National Defense Ribbon, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal.

He married Judith Green of St. Charles on June 15, 1955 and with her assistance and encouragement and the GI Bill, graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1959.  He retired at the end of 1993 after 33 years in the insurance claims business.

He loved his family and enjoyed touring on his motorcycle.  He was a member of the Marine Corps League, American Legion, American Legion Riders and the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.

He is survived by his two children, David (Betsy) Pierson; Christine (Thomas) West; his seven grandchildren, Drury, Madeline, Henry (Hallie), Ellen, Ruth, Pamela, and Judith Ann; and his great-grandchildren, Ronan, Finn and Luna.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Judith (nee Green) Pierson.

There will be no visitation and internment will be private at the West Batavia Cemetery.
