February 19, 1938 - May 27, 2021

Edward F. Dugan, 83, of St. Charles, IL, passed away peacefully at home on May 27, 2021. He was born in Dixon, IL, on February 19, 1938, to the late William F. and Bertha K. Dugan, and a caring older brother to his sisters Pat (Bill) Kassul, Kay (Gail) Reed, and Barb (Ken) Drazba. Ed graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1956, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Loras College in 1961. He married the love of his life, Susan Kaeding, on July 7, 1962, and she was by his side when he joined the Kingdom of God. Ed was a successful Allstate agent and owner for over 63 years. Ed’s business accomplishments were numerous, but he always considered his most significant accomplishment to be the personal relationships he formed with generations of clients. Ed had a personality that filled a room. He made everyone around him feel special and important. Ed was the biggest cheerleader for his four beloved children, Ann (Rich) Van Thournout, Kathy (Steve) Danosky, Colleen Dugan and Bill (Jen) Dugan, and his eight grandchildren. Ed traveled far and wide to attend golf, basketball, soccer, bowling, tennis, and lacrosse tournaments. He was even known for putting on his rally cap during the heat of the competition. When he was unable to attend in-person, Ed would watch the games online; trying his best to never miss a big or little moment for the people he loved the most. During the summer months, Ed was often found playing golf and enjoying a glass of Cab with friends and family at St. Charles Country Club. Ed and Sue were members for over 30 years, and Ed was a vibrant member of the community. For the past 20 winters, Ed was fortunate to make lasting friendships that resulted in a multitude of memories at his residence in Ft. Myers, FL. His life will live on through all of the people he impacted and the memories they shared during his 83 years. Guest Book ShareEmail Print
