July 28, 1951 - December 5, 2025

Edward Enskat, age 74 of St. Charles, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, December 5, 2025. He was born on July 28, 1951 to Emil and Maria (Endrulat) Enskat of Oak Lawn, IL. Ed graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago campus, with a degree in Psychology. He began his career at International Motors shortly thereafter. That is where he met his wife Paula (Kelsey) Enskat… at the company Christmas party. They were married on February 2, 1991 in Darien, Illinois where they made their home. It was there that they welcomed their son Alexander into the world on May 29, 1992. Ed was a very proud and doting father, spending his time off supporting Alex’s sport and music activities. Ed’s career was very important to him… spanning 38 years. He was transferred from Chicago to Atlanta, back to Chicago and then to Texas and finally back to Illinois where he chose his forever home in St. Charles, IL. He retired in October 2012. Only a short year later, he felt the strong urge to rejoin the work force. He embarked on a second career with Nissan North America, where he really enjoyed the travel and daily interactions with his coworkers and customers. Ed retired for good on July 12, 2019. He became an avid golfer, always trying to perfect his game and meeting up with his buddies at Pottawatomie in St. Charles. He also enjoyed riding his beloved Harley Davidson motorcycle, taking to the open country roads every chance he got. He also loved sitting on our neighbor Bryan’s porch, shooting the breeze and enjoying his Bud Light. He also enjoyed spoiling his precious dog Max, often taking him on walks and getting him his pup cone from Dairy Queen. Ed’s faith was important to him. He volunteered as an usher for St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in St. Charles and enjoyed getting to know everyone there. Ed is survived by his wife Paula Enskat, her daughter Julie Kelsey, his brother, Sam Enskat (Beth) of Frankfort, IL., his sister, Irene (Joe) Stuchly of Oak Lawn, Il., and many sisters and brother in laws, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Alexander Christian Enskat, his parents Emil and Maria Enskat, and his in-laws, John and Mary Kelsey. The Visitation will be Saturday, January 10th, 2026 from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at Saint Marks Lutheran Church (101 S 6th Ave, St. Charles, IL 60174). The Memorial Service will immediately follow at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Marks Lutheran Church. Following the memorial service the interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Aurora, IL.Guest BookShareEmailPrint
