Elizabeth M. Mangini

Elizabeth “Betty” M. Mangini, 91, of Wheaton passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at her home.  She was born August 2, 1929 in Chicago, IL the daughter of John and Mary (Carullo) Cappiello.  She was united in marriage to William “Bill” M. Mangini, Jr. February 5, 1949 in Chicago. 

Elizabeth was a teacher at St. Matthew Catholic School in Glendale Heights, IL where she taught first and sixth grade language arts along with other subjects.  She was a wonderful, kind, caring mother and grandmother who enjoyed feeding and caring for her family.  She enjoyed many trips with her husband.  Over everything else her family came first she loved hosting family reunions and spending time together. 

She is survived by her children, Jan M. Mangini, William J. (Mary) Mangini, and Lori (David) Frew; twelve grandchildren, Will (Elizabeth) Mangini, Amy (Daryn) Stark, Ann Marie (James) Doughty, Tricia Mangini, Christina, Michael, and Jason Mangini, Joshua (Heather) Frew, Sarah (Will) Hof, Eric, Daniel and Benjamin Frew; twelve great-grandchildren, Nina, Aurora and Emilia Mangini, Nicholas, Hunter, Jenna and Mya Stark, Calvin and Molly Doughty, Jaden Zobel, Nathaniel and Joan Hof; and two sisters Lucy (Joe) Tierno and Dolores Luka; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband William W. Mangini, Jr., and a brother-in-law Jack Luka. 

Visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. Monday, May 24, 2021 at Moss Family Funeral Home 209 South Batavia Avenue Batavia, IL.  Following the visitation, a funeral Mass will be held 12:00 noon Monday May 24, 2021 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2300 Main Street Batavia, IL.  Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.
