Georgeann Heise
April 4, 1937 - August 24, 2026 Georgeann (Rara) Heise, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, August 24, 2026. She was born April 4, 1937, in Kane, Pennsylvania to George and Anna Anderson and graduated from Augustana College with a teaching degree in 1960. She worked as an elementary teacher and was dedicated to caring for her students. Georgeann is survived by her husband of 64 years, Theodore, who she met on a blind date in 1962. They traveled the world together and toured the country in their Model T Ford vintage car. She is also survived by her daughter, Rebecca (husband, Doug) Boone, grandchildren, Montana and Dylan, daughter in law Laurie Heise, grandchildren Garrett and Madeline, and her German Shepherd Eryka. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Theodore E. Heise, Jr. Georgeann was an incredibly involved mother and grandmother, sewing elaborate Halloween costumes, baking cookies and pumpkin bread, and always providing no nonsense advice (“just live on the edge”). Georgeann is survived by her brother Paul (wife, Jill) Anderson, niece Suzanne (husband, Lynn), and nephew Christian (wife, Pam) who she loved to visit out west. They explored trading posts and Georgeann collected beautiful Native American pottery. She loved spending time with her family, gardening surrounded by her many dogs and cats, visiting art museums with her ladies’ group, and celebrating her Scandinavian heritage every Christmas. Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, October 3rd from 2-3:00 P.M. at Congregational United Church of Christ, St. Charles. Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 3rd at 3:00 P.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be sent to the Art Institute of Chicago Annual Fund to support conservation and art education in Chicago. https://sales.artic.edu/donateGuest BookShareEmailPrint |
