Helen V.  Crawley December 17, 1928 - September 9, 2021

Helen V. (Uzalinski) Crawley, age 92, passed away on September 9th, 2021 in Aurora, IL.  Born on December 17th 1928 in Lawrence, MA to Matthew J. Uzalinski and Mary Dziadosz, Helen had 2 brothers and 4 sisters (one her twin who passed at child birth).

Helen was married to James J. Crawley from 1952 until his passing in 1998.  Long time residences of Lawrence, MA, Helen also had residences in Salem and Manchester NH as well as Melbourne, FL and N. Aurora, IL.

Helen graduated from St Mary’s HS in Lawrence.  She studied accounting and business and later would work hand in hand with her husband running Spring Valley Water Company.  Eventually, Helen would go on to work for many years in the Phillips Academy (Andover) Business Office and then for many years retiring as Credit Manager at Colombo Yogurt in Methuen, MA.

A member of one of the founding Polish families of the Holy Trinity Church in Lawrence, Helen was a devoted Catholic who loved her Faith, Family and Church.  Helen loved the Beach, especially summers at Seabrook Beach, NH, she loved to knit and spent a number of years knitting hundreds of mittens, scarves and sweaters for a variety of charities. 

Helen loved her children, grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters. Helen is survived by her son Tim Crawley and his wife Elizabeth of Navarre Beach, FL and her daughter Mary Beth Erickson and her husband Robert of Black Diamond, WA and 4 grandsons, James and Tim Crawley and Robert and Chad Erickson and 2 great –granddaughters Kennedy and Ophelia.  She is survived by many nieces, nephews and by one sister Carol Kotce of Haverhill, MA.

A memorial service will be held 4:00 P.M. on Monday September 13th, 2021 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave, Batavia, IL.   Ashes of the deceased will be interned at a later date in a private ceremony.
