James "Jim" Plankenhorn, Jr. Obituary James H.” Jim” Plankenhorn, Jr, age 63, of Pingree Grove, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born February 22, 1962, in Evanston, the son of James and Margaret (Gasper) Plankenhorn. Jim grew up in Glenview.  He graduated from Loyola Academy in 1980 and from the University of Dayton in 1984.  He had a long career in computer programming.  Jim was an avid gamer, both board and computer.  Besides his passion for gaming, Jim also loved movies, reading, and spending time with family and friends.  He was a wonderful father figure and friend to Brandi and Zack, and a very beloved Papa to Caroline, Juliet, and Noah.  Jim also was a huge animal lover and cherished many pets in his lifetime. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Beth (George); children Brandi Holtz and Zachary (Clarissa Owens) Holtz; grandchildren Caroline and Juliet Holtz and Noah Allen; brother John (Carol) of Milwaukee; nephew Gavin; and many cousins, other dear relatives, and friends. A visitation for James will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 9:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Aurora. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Anderson Animal Shelter, 1000 S. La Fox Road, South Elgin, Illinois 60177 would be appreciated.
