Jane Holcomb, 91, of Aurora, Il., passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021. Jane was born on January 1, 1930, in Cambridge, OH., the daughter of Clyde and Audrey (nee. Williams) Nicholson, and was the third oldest of eleven children. Jane graduated the top of her class in 1948 from Mooseheart Child City & School before moving to Washington, DC where she worked as a secretary for the Judge Advocate General (JAG). Jane married Jess B Holcomb, the love of her life, on January 19, 1952 in DC while Jess was serving in the US Marines and they celebrated 67 years of marriage. Jane had an adventurous spirit and loved to read, travel, and spend time cooking and caring for family and friends. She was a woman of faith and known for her kindness as demonstrated by the friendships she maintained across decades and around the country. She will be missed. Jane is survived by her three children, Daniel (Nancy) Holcomb, Cheryl (Donald) Dickinson and Susan (David) Fuentes; her daughter-in-law Penny Holcomb; eleven grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Nicky Draves and Sandra Milligan, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Audrey Nicholson; her husband Jess; her son, Michael Holcomb and her eight brothers. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 27 S Edgelawn Dr, Aurora, IL 60506.
