JANET A. JACKOLIN

JANET A. JACKOLIN

Date of Birth

May 30, 1962

Date of Death

February 4, 2023

Janet Jackolin, age 60, of St. Charles, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Saturday, February 4, 2023.

She was born to loving parents Kenneth & Patricia Walsh on May 30, 1962.

She graduated from Larkin High School, Elgin IL, with the class of 1981.

Janet attended a friends birthday party in a local bar, but it was Janet who received a gift that day. Janet heard wild made-up stories about Bill Jackolin but she believed none of his friend’s jokes, and instead went out on her “last first date” the following night. They were united in marriage on October 2, 1982, in downtown Chicago. They began their new life together in Cicero and welcomed home their son Kyle, before settling in Berwyn in 1988. Millions of memories were celebrated before migrating west to St. Charles in 2014.

She ran an arcade called Uncle Bob’s Family Fun House, in Lyons, Illinois. Although she was a co-owner, she still decided to run the ticket counter to see all of the kids excitedly turn in their tickets for prizes. Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces made her the happiest that she could dream to be. She also helped as a co-owner/landlord for companies at a strip mall in Lyons.

She was a devout Catholic, and she also attended the Congregational Church of Lily Lake, occasionally helping with the groundskeeping. Before moving to St. Charles, she was a member of the Saint Pius X Catholic Church in Stickney, Illinois.

Janet donated her time, money, and love to many feline friends along with other animals that came into her life. Being a loving mother, fostering and adopting animals was her favorite thing to do. She always wanted to put her compassionate personality to good use. Anything that was western themed instantly intrigued Janet’s mind. She and Bill watched all 20 seasons of Gun Smoke, a couple seasons of The Rifle Man, as well as a show called The Virginian. Over the course of 5-6 months, she accepted the challenge of finishing a 50,000 piece puzzle of a European Catholic Cathedral. Once her family settled down in St. Charles, Janet was an avid gardener and she loved her peonies and roses. When she was not being a mother to animals, she was a caring, compassionate, and a gentle mother to her only son Kyle.

Janet is survived by her son, Kyle (Taylor Oram) Jackolin; her brother-in-law, Bob Jackolin; her sister-in-law, Monica Walsh; her sister-in-law, Maddi Halpern; her nephews, Michael (Jacki) Walsh and Joseph (Jennifer) Walsh; her niece, Rebecca Halpern; as well as Michael Donati and Nancy Donati.

Janet is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Jackolin; her parents, Kenneth and Patricia Walsh; her siblings, Kevin Walsh and Nancy Walsh; and her uncle, Phil Baker .

Janet’s family will hold a visitation in her honor on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 4-7:30 P.M. at Conley Funeral Home 116 W Pierce St., Elburn, Illinois 60119.  A service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 7:30 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Janet’s name. Checks may be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School through their website, www.stjo.org. They can also be made to the National Humane Society, or PAWS Chicago www.pawschicago.org .  Tributes may also be forwarded to the Conley Funeral Home Facebook Page, or at www.conleycare.com.
