			Obituary 
John Joseph Deeter, “Jack”, age 61, of Batavia, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020.  
He was born January 27, 1959, in Olney, Illinois, the son of Roger and Nancy (Hartrich) Deeter.  
Jack grew up in Oblong, IL and met the love of his life, Nancy, while attending Lincoln Trail College in Robinson, IL. He graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. Nancy and Jack married on June 20, 1981, in Flat Rock, IL and moved to Batavia, IL where they created a wonderful life together. Jack’s career included working for Belden Electronic Company, Furnas Electric, and for the majority of his career, Siemens.  
Jack was a selfless man who was devoted to the Lord, his family, his friends and his career. Throughout his many years of serving with children and youth in ministry, he experienced great joy in sharing his love for the Lord. His wisdom and knowledge shaped the lives of his three children. Jack cherished every moment he spent together with them. His newest passion was spending time with his two grandsons and making them laugh and smile. Jack’s loyalty, dedication, honesty and determination along with his giving heart made him a man loved by many.  
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Nancy (McCleave); children Laurel (Josué) Diaz of Woodstock, IL; AJ of Heyworth, IL; and Kaci Tews of Streamwood, IL; grandchildren Colin Tews and Micah Diaz; sisters Teresa (Del) Fanning of Vincennes, IN; and Christi (David) VanNess of Carmel, IN; and many other dear relatives and friends.  
Jack was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Paul and Clara Hartrich, paternal grandparents John and Vera Deeter, parents Roger and Nancy Deeter, and brother David Deeter.  
A visitation will be held Friday, December 4, 2020, beginning at 1:30 pm at Chapelstreet Church, 2300 South Street, Geneva, IL, immediately followed by a service celebrating Jack’s life at 2:00pm with Pastor Jeff Frazier and Pastor Brian Coffey officiating.  Due to the current health care restrictions, standards of occupancy will be upheld. To attend please be prepared to wear a mask and/or wait if occupancy standards need to be met before entering.  Unfortunately, the family will not be able to directly interact with those attending.  
A family graveside service will be held Saturday, December 5, at 2 pm at Jones Cemetery in Flat Rock, Illinois.  
In lieu of flowers, in Jack’s memory, a donation can be made to Chapelstreet Church. Memo line “Deeter Memorial”. This donation will be utilized directly for the Chapelstreet Kids Ministry. Mailing address: Chapelstreet Church, 2300 South Street, Geneva, Illinois 60134.
