Joseph S. Sibrava December 4, 1947 ~ August 7, 2026 (age 78) 78 Years Old
Joseph Sibrava Obituary Joseph S. Sibrava, age 78, of St. Charles, passed away Friday, August 7, 2026.  Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Antoinette (Toni); loving father of Elizabeth (Byron Rentfro) and Naomi; beloved grandfather to Caroline Ott, Joseph Ott, and Daniel Rentfro; dear brother of John Sibrava (Mary Ann); and beloved uncle of Laura Sibrava and Michael Sibrava.  He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mary (Krejci) Sibrava. Joe was born on December 4, 1947 in Berwyn, Illinois.  He grew up in Stickney, Illinois, and graduated from Morton West High School in Berwyn.  He received his mechanical engineering degree from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana, and received his MBA from DePaul University in Chicago.  While working his first job at Mueller Company in Decatur, Illinois, he was drafted into the Army in 1970.  He served in Vietnam during the last six months of the war. Joe had a long career in the medical packaging industry.  His expertise included extrusion, bag making, printing and manufacturing of peel open pouches for sterile medical devices. His talents were recognized early on and he spent many years in various management positions.  Initially he worked at Tower Products in Mundelein, Illinois, and after numerous acquisitions which included American Hospital Supply, Baxter, Rexam and ultimately Loparex, Joe left the medical packaging industry and retired. In his personal life he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He was a lifelong bicyclist and loved to travel.  He liked all kinds of music and loved drinking beer which always put a big smile on his face.  He also enjoyed woodworking, built beautiful furniture and could handle just about any project around the house. Visitation for Joseph will be held Friday, August 14, 2026, from 2:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street in Geneva, Illinois.  A Celebration of Life will take place at 6:30 pm. Burial will be private.
