JOSEPHINE ELLEN WILLIS

Josephine Ellen Willis, 83, of San Diego, California, beloved wife, mother, grandmother,  and great-grand mother, passed away from complications of cardiac arrest on Sunday, August 4, 2024. She was born on September 19, 1940 in Itasca, IL to parents, Thomas and Charlotte Muldoon (nee Kelling).

She was an avid bridge player, Vice President of Wednesday Etc. Women’s Club, member of the Rancho Bernardo Country Club for over 25 years and the Women’s craft group, contributing her handywork to many charitable organizations. She loved to travel the World along with spending many of her vacations with friends in Florida.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James l Willis; her son James Jr; her daughter Kathleen; grandchildren: Nicole, Kelsea, Michael, Mercedes; and her great grandchild, Emma.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Charlotte Muldoon.

Her passing came unexpectedly as she was in good health and had an active life.  She will be sorely missed by all her family and many friends!

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. at Conley Funeral Home at 116 W. Pierce Street, Elburn, IL 60119. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 12:00p.m. also at Conley Funeral Home.  Interment will immediately follow the service at West Big Rock Cemetery in Big Rock, IL.
