June 15, 1968 - August 28, 2022

Laurie Anne Kerrigan June 15, 1968 – August 28, 2022 On August 28th, 2022, Laurie Anne Kerrigan, 54, peacefully passed away with her family by her side. Laurie was born June 15th,1968 in Los Angeles, CA, the second of three children of Jess and Donna (Austin) Feathers. Laurie had a variety of hobbies and interests, but her lifelong favorite was horseback riding. She competed in English riding from the time she was a child and always had a smile on her face when she spent time at the barn with her horse, Simi. Laurie was a social butterfly and never knew a stranger. People were immediately drawn to Laurie’s liveliness and confidence, and she picked up lifelong friends everywhere she went. She threw great parties- her annual New Years Eve party was always a favorite, with perfectly curated playlists throughout the night that included everything from Coldplay to Duran Duran, a variety of dance hits, and a bit of Yacht Rock. While Laurie worked in the residential real estate industry for 20 years, her real love and passion was in her own home. Home decorating and DIY always gave her such joy. She loved making things beautiful and always had a project in the works. Laurie enjoyed the occasional family trip, whether a simple weekend at the zoo with her kids and grandkids, or an extended vacation to a family-friendly resort. Laurie devoted her life to her family. She was a loving and fun mom who always wanted her kids to feel happy and fulfilled. Laurie was a fierce protector and a great sounding board- she would give her opinion without flinching or apology, but she never dismissed you for your choice. Family and home were everything to her… and maybe a Burberry bag and a Peppermint White Mocha. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Laurie is survived by her mother, Donna Austin of Grand Detour, IL; her husband, James Kerrigan; her children, Brendan Leake (Marie Leake) of Las Vegas, NV, Caitlin Leake (Clint Jabaley) of Sycamore, IL and Declan, Parker, and Finley Kerrigan; her granddaughters, Madelynn Jabaley, Elodie Jabaley, and Skylar Leake; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Jess Feathers Jr. (Robin Feathers), and John Feathers (Deborah Feathers); and 6 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Jess Feathers. “Her absence is like the sky, spread over everything.” -C.S. Lewis A Memorial Service will be held at 4pm on September 10th, 2022 at Whitney Cemetery 40 Burlington Rd, Campton Hills, 60175 with a Celebration of Life to follow at 6N459 Palomino Dr. Campton Hills, IL.Guest BookShareEmailPrint
