July 14, 1929 - July 29, 2026

LeRoy (Roy) Stauder, son of Wendlin and Ida May (Newkirk) Stauder, was born on July 14, 1929, in St. Louis, MO. Roy departed this life July 29, 2026, at River Glen in St. Charles, IL, at the age of 97. Roy served in the United States Army from August 22, 1946, to January 13, 1948, attaining the rank of private first class. In 1950, Roy united in marriage with Doris (Dee) M. (Oberman) Stauder. Together they made a home and had two children, Greg and Gail. Roy’s entire career was spent at the Continental Can Company, where he eventually became a plant manager. His work took him to places all over the world, including extensive stays in the Middle East, Asia, and South America. Upon retirement, Roy spent much of his time in Lampe, MO, where he enjoyed boating and fishing on Table Rock Lake. Always a fan of a good meal, Roy not only loved Dee’s home cooking, but would not scoff at a trip to White Castle. Roy also spent time as a proud member of The Knights of Columbus and The American Legion. Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Doris M. Stauder; daughter, Gail Marie (Stauder) Johnston; and son-in-law, Glenn Martin Johnston. Survivors include: one son, Greg Stauder and wife, Karen; one granddaughter Marne (Johnston) Walker, grandson-in-law Andrew Walker, and great grandson Samuel Walker; two grandsons, Ted Johnston and Eric Stauder. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, on Saturday, August, 15, 2026 at Yurs Funeral Home (405 East Main Street, Saint Charles, IL 60174).
