October 3, 1932 - February 22, 2024

Louis “Junior” P. Desideri Jr., 91, of Sugar Grove, Illinois, entered Eternal Life on February 22, 2024, after a brief illness. Junior was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 3, 1932, to Louis and Ann Desideri. One of six children, Junior grew up in a large Italian family in Berwyn, Illinois. After high school, he joined the Army before returning to Berwyn.  Junior worked for General Motors and retired in his early fifties.  He remained in Berwyn and cared for his aging parents. After his parents passed away, he moved to Sugar Grove, where he lived independently for the rest of his life. Junior lived his life through simple pleasures. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, reading, and fishing. He spent most summers with family at his cottage on Lake Enterprise in Elcho, Wisconsin. It was there that he shared his love of the outdoors and in particular, fishing with his nephews who in turn developed the same life-long passion. It is one of his most enduring legacies. Junior’s greatest love, however, was family and his true gift in life was caring for others. He was always there for his family. After the loss of his brothers, he became an important figure in their families, a constant and stable presence who was supportive and encouraging. Junior’s ability to listen and offer a positive perspective was amazing. He was a man of high character and impeccable integrity, respected by all those who knew him. Words cannot express how much he was loved and will be missed. His kind and gentle approach to life will continue to inspire all who loved him. He is survived by his sisters June Bily and Sharon Desideri (Brad) as well as many adoring nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Louis and Ann Desideri; brothers Ronald Desideri (Diones), Leonard Desideri (Patricia) and sister Dolores Desideri. His four-legged friend, Juno, will also miss him terribly! A memorial visitation will take place on Friday March 1, 2024 from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2300 Main Street, Batavia, IL 60510 with the Mass following at 10:30 A.M.Guest BookShareEmailPrint
