Lynne (formerly Melba L. Reid) was born September 5, 1951, in Moberly Missouri to William and Beulah Reid. She graduated from Moberly High School in May 1969. She was married on August 8, 1971, to Mark Vehlewald of Mexico Missouri, and shortly afterwards moved to San Diego California where Mark was stationed in the US Navy. While living there she worked full-time and attended SDSU. Returning to Columbia Missouri after Mark was discharged from the service, Lynne enrolled and graduated from the University of Missouri, with a B.A. in Education. Her life priorities shifted however, after developing a strong relationship with her new mother-in-law Fern Vehlewald. Raising a family became a priority, So Lynne and Mark had their first son. Three years later son #2 came along and Lynne’s priorities were crystal clear. Each child had so many opportunities ahead and they needed a parent to make certain they met their goals. Home and School board memberships (president for a time), school involvement, church, scouting, and sports all became Lynne’s #1 priority. As her family moved from Kansas to Illinois, to California and back to Illinois, it was Lynnes’ top priority to find a suitable neighborhood, home, school and new friends for their 2 sons. After the kids were grown, Lynne and Mark moved back to the Chicago area where Lynne served as the Medical Staff coordinator at the Amita Bolingbrook (IL) Hospital until her retirement in 2016, She and Mark then moved to St. Charles to be close to their youngest son and family. There now were grandkids that needed Gigi! Lynne is survived by her husband Mark, sons Brad, Darin and his wife Carrie, grandchildren Liam, Reid and Audrey, all of St. Charles Il. In lieu of flowers, Lynne would have loved you to donate to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab Utah or to pancreatic cancer research.
